The Lighthouse for Recovery Ministries - A Beacon of Light for the Soul in Need!
Our new Veteran Job and Employment Center is open and ready to serve our nation's heroes.

Veterans served our country well. You can help honor their service – and benefit your business – by employing them.

Veterans have a proven track record of dependability, teamwork, and individual problem solving from their military experience that can be put to work in your organization.

Providing jobs for Veterans is one of the most important things you can do to help those who served our country.

As a veteran myself, I know that finding a new job can be overwhelming and challenging, but as your partner, we will walk you through the process, connect you with resources and opportunities as well as prepare you for the interview that will make you competitive for high quality jobs.

Looking to hire a veteran? Then you probably already know the many reasons that veterans make excellent employees. Their military experience has provided them with education, training, values, leadership skills and teamwork experience.

Our goal is to connect transitioning U.S. military service members, veterans and their spouses with job opportunities through workshops, personalized career coaching and employment preparation counseling. Our services are provided at no cost to the transitioning service members, honorably-discharged U.S. military veterans, regardless of separation date and term of service,  or spouse.

Whether you are looking for full-time or part-time work, internships, or training opportunities, our Veteran Programs Team is here to help. We define success as helping transitioning service members, veterans and spouses meet or exceed their employment goals.

We are dedicated to helping homeless Veterans and Veterans at risk of homelessness secure and maintain employment leading to increased residential and personal stability. Our goal is to afford Veterans the opportunity to return to healthy, productive lifestyles within their own communities.

Veterans can sometimes run into issues with law enforcement and the criminal justice system resulting in incarceration.

Our program has been  developed to meet the needs of formerly incarcerated veterans with histories of serious mental illness and/or substance abuse and who are homeless.  Without adequate social or community supports, they are at risk for returning to criminal behavior.

By providing transition planning and linkage to treatment programs prior to veterans’ prison discharge, this program seeks to prevent chronic homelessness, return to criminal behavior and relapse of mental illness and/or substance abuse.

We provide short-term case management, providing outreach and discharge planning until the veteran is involved in outpatient or residential treatment and is linked to community supports.

Because this coordinated approach targets veterans immediately before their prison release, duplication of VA services is avoided and timely access to VA services is provided. Thus, veterans receive the supports necessary to maximize their chances of successful community reintegration.
