The Lighthouse for Recovery Ministries - A Beacon of Light for the Soul in Need!
“There will always be poor people in the land; therefore, be openhanded toward the poor and needy (Deut 15:11).”

God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.
------Billy Graham

" May the Christian church never be regarded as a special interest group. We're here because we love our neighbor."
-------Charles Colsom, Prison Fellowship

The Lighthouse for Recovery Ministries is a total volunteer driven nonprofit with 140 individuals, businesses, corporations and governmental agencies that provide us with support and donations for our day to day operations as well as our numerous auxiliary programs, particularly our holiday programs for the indigent and low income families in our state as well as nationwide and our military.

We do not have any employees and the Executive Director/Founder as well as any other staff members do this as a labor of love or calling and do not receive any salaries for their time, efforts and work; therefore 100% of all monetary as well as product donations are used for our clients, our community, our state and our nation to provide our programs and services free to all who apply for assistance from our organization.

Vehicle needed (our vehicle was stolen last year). We use the vehicle to transport clients, pick up and drop off donations.

Donations of Books of Fiction and Non-fiction
for Prison Distribution program through our Prisoner Book Nook and quarterly donations to UAB Nursing Programs for their Donaldson Prison Donation Program.

provided to inmates that are transferred to a work release facility or are being released from prison on a program or EOS.
